The Hovercraft Car powerup allows the player to make their vehicle hover above the ground for a short amount of time. The wheels turn 90º outward on the car's front-to-back axis, so they become parallel to the ground. The car then gently starts floating above the ground, a bit higher than its previous position.
Driving while in this mode is a bit harder, but it can be stopped at any time by releasing the item key. This powerup can be used to fly over certain things, but particularly, to hover above water. The car won't be able to hover if it's upside-down.
