Description | |
"Let me show you 'my' SNAKE." |
Viper is one of the 50 original cars from Carmageddon: TDR 2000. It first appears in Hollowood, being one of the first vehicles the player encounters in the game.
Design

It is a 1994 Toyota Land Cruiser Blue Marlin FZJ80R, which was exclusively available to the Australian market. It has a snake livery.
Performance
Viper is not very durable and isn't good for wasting cars either. Its saving grace is its top speed when fully upgraded, being able to reach 261MPH[1].
Driver

The driver, named "Jake Viper" in the files, wears a green dress and green boots, both with a blue snake design. They have purple hair, purple lipstick, and green-tinted glasses.
Trivia
- Viper's folder name is "PanVan". The files within are named "PanelVan".
- Jake the Snake was a professional wrestler of the 80s and 90s.
- The "snake" mentioned in the unused description is most likely referring to the male reproductive organ, making this character's gender ambiguous.
- Viper uses the same base model as both TNT and the Green Hammer. This is even more evident as Viper can lose its bed cover, revealing it is a pickup truck.
- Viper is one of four cars with the same "12" race number. The others are: Leadpumper, The Twister, and Khaki and Crutch's car.
- Inside the files for Viper there is an info .txt file for an earlier iteration of the vehicle:
- NAME "Snakes Panel Van"
- DESCRIPTION "Top Speed: 20000mph
- Kerb weight: 1.5 tons
- 0-60mph: 3.4 seconds
- I am the god of love, bed in with me now"
- DESCRIPTOR "PanVandescriptor.txt"
- DRIVER_NAME "Sissy Mike"
- DRIVER_SHORT_NAME "Snake"
- STRENGTH 5
- COST 50 // in thousands!
- TYPE 2 // 0 = eagle, 1 = normal, 2 = novelty
- //ARMOUR_MAP "eagle_armoured"
