"I am the hammer of the gods." |
Stormbringer is one of the 50 original cars from Carmageddon: TDR 2000. It first appears in the Military Zone, being encountered very late in the game.
Design
It is a Funny Car with lightning bolts for a livery, and its name placed on its sides. It has simple rails-style tube chassis and supercharged V8-engine. Bag of drogue chute is visible at rear of the vehicle.
Performance
Stormbringer is an inferior version of its other dragster counterpart, Vlad, with a lower acceleration and top speed, and weaker body overall. It is also a lot more expensive[1].
Driver
The driver, named "Lightning Larry" in the files, is a generic driver wearing a black helmet and jacket, and blue jeans.
Trivia
- Stormbringer's file name is "Funnycar".
- The "Hammer of the Gods" is Mjǫllnir, the hammer wielded by the Norse Thunder God Thor.
- Although the car clearly has drogue chute, it is never used in game, instead Stormbringer relies on traditional brakes like all other vehicles.
- This vehicle looks very much like the Annihilator from the first game. Added to this, a remade Annihilator appears to have been created at some point, as bits of its texture can be seen within the ones from the Wheel. It's unknown why it was removed, and why Stormbringer and the Vlad from the final game were created.
- Inside the files for Stormbringer there is an info .txt file for an earlier iteration of the vehicle, although it's mostly the same as the final version:
