Description
"Psycho surgeon Sawbones is almost always the first to arrive on the scene of an accident. Usually he caused it."

Ramraider is one of the new vehicles introduced in the Splat Pack expansion from the original Carmageddon, driven by Big Daddy. It appears among the last batch of opponents and is not stealworthy.

Design

The basis for the Blood Mobile appears to be the ambulance package of a 1990 Ford Econoline van, now better known as the Ford E-Series. It is soaked in blood and has a body outline on its grille.

Driver

Sawbones wears a bloodied surgeon uniform and carries a bloody scalpel.

Trivia

• Blood Mobile replaces Project X.
• A 'Blood Mobile' is a coach which has been converted into a portable blood donation clinic. The Carmageddon vehicle appears to simply be a claret-soaked ambulance.
• The Blood Mobile's race number in the grid is shown to be 911 - the telephone number for the North American emergency services. However, this number is not actually placed anywhere in the vehicle itself. This is also the case for the Volkswerker, and the Tanka.
• The Blood Mobile is likely work of intern. It's skin differs from rest of vehicles, as it has much more dithering going on, resulting rather messy appearance. It's UV-mapping is also inconsistent, front fenders having much lower texel density than rest of the vehicle.
• It shares model with a drone from beta version of Carmageddon 2. It is not know for sure which was first. However, the Bloodmobile has a leftover texture from the beta ambulance, suggesting that the Bloodmobile is re-skin and not other way around.
• Sawbones = Saw Bones. Saw-Bones is a nickname for surgeons, especially when amputation technology/medicine was not present, and doctors had to saw limbs or bones off to save the patient.
• Sawbones' mugshot in the car selection screen is one of the few that is animated.
• Sawbones was meant to appear in Carmageddon 1. There exist pencil sketch of character in early mugshot concepts.
