De Gory'Un is a recurring vehicle from the Carmageddon series, first appearing in Splat Pack. It later returns in Carmageddon II: Carpocalypse Now, Carmageddon: Reincarnation & Max Damage, and Carmageddon: Crashers. It also makes a cameo appearance in the official Carmageddon comic.

Description
"Since major brain surgery Mikey hasn't been himself. That's because he was given a murdering lunatic's brain due to an administrative error."

De Gory'Un is one of the new vehicles introduced in the Splat Pack expansion of the original Carmageddon. It appears together with the second tier of vehicles, and is not stealworthy.

Design

This vehicle is clearly based on a DeLorean DMC-12, which is famously known from the Back To The Future films. It has hood scoop, a grey paintjob and the number 89. Attached to its front is a rusty iron frame holding several giant razors.

Performance

It has respectable armor, power and offense all round. However, there are better alternatives for vehicles of the same tier, such as Caddy Fat Cat or the Towmeister, both of which are stronger, and have more chances of wasting bulkier cars such as Rig O'Mortis or Monster Masher.[1]

Driver

Metal Mikey is a bald man wearing dark sunglasses, with the left part of its head being near fully-metallic. His name is based on Metal Mickey, a happy little robot that was prominent on kids' TV in the 1980s.

Trivia

  • Like majority of Splat Pack-vehicles, De Gory'Un was most likely made by intern. Explains it's somewhat odd appearance.
  • De Gory'Un replaces Hevy Impaler.

Cost 631,000 credits
Description
"Not too hot on the performance front, but usefully adorned up front."

DeGory'Un returns in Carmageddon II: Carpocalypse Now, driven by Russ T. It appears among the first tier of opponents.

Design

This version of the car is white, and lacks the race number and hood scoop. It looks almost like a standard DeLorean DMC-12, except for the spikes on the front and the "RUN" manufacturer.

Performance

It has good offense capabilities with decent power and weight. It's nearly as good as the Slam Sedan or the Thunderbucket in tier 1. However, it has a wide turning and low braking, making it not as easy to drive. It is also more expensive than both cars mentioned previously.

Driver

Russ T has curly short brown hair and wears dark sunglasses. They also appear to wear metallic armor.

Trivia

  • The manufacturer's name on the front of the DeGory'Un 2 is RUN: Add that to the real-world manufacturer (DMC) and one gets Run–D.M.C., the famous Hip-Hop group.

Description
"Rusk was the 666th mayor of Beaver County, and successfully drove through the abolition of pedestrians' "right to life". A gold statue of him was duly erected in his honour. He now spends his time driving his DeGoryun, and when it reaches 88mph the spikes get extra pointy"

DeGoryun makes an appearance in Carmageddon: Reincarnation, driven by Rusk. It appears among the first tier of opponents.

Design

In this game, the DeGoryun has the hood scoop from Splat Pack's version once again, but is colored white like the one from C2. This time, it carries sharp black skewers on the front attached to a frame. A skull is lodged in one of the spikes.

Performance

It is not great overall, having weak armor, and a weak spot on the rear which makes it easy for anyone to wreck it by hitting it there. Its acceleration is also weak, and its top speed is average. Its only strength is its decent offense capability, with its skewers providing some damage to most lightweight vehicles and a few of the middleweights such as Siamese Dream and Electric Blue. It fails against stronger vehicles, however.

Trivia

  • Degoryun was the work of Stephen Rushbrook.[2]
