Rig O'Mortis is one of the new vehicles from the Splat Pack expansion of the original Carmageddon. It appears among the final batch of opponents and becomes stealworthy at rank 21.
Design
It is based on a Mack CH 613. Its colored black and has a rusty metal bumper. Its race number is 74.
Performance
Trivia
- Rig O'Mortis might have been considered for the original Carmageddon, as a concept art of a similar truck made for the game exists.
- The speedometer readout is shown as red instead of the standard green/yellow when using this vehicle in Splat Pack, even when out of cockpit view.
- Rig O'Mortis replaced King Merc.
- Like majority of Splat Pack vehicles, Rig O'Mortis might be work of intern. This is most apparent when looking polycount of the model. With 612 triangles, Rig is the most poly-heavy model in the Splat Pack and has over three times more triangles than some Carmageddon 1-vehicles.
- Rig O'Mortis makes a cameo appearance in Issue 2 of the Carmageddon: TDR 2000 comic. It has overall the same design from Splat Pack, but with the addition of a trailer and two corpses being strung up its grille. In the story, it appears behind a reporter while he's reporting on the chaos happening on Happydale. The truck seemingly destroyed his car, and its driver was also seemingly responsible for kidnapping women.
