Description | |
"It's chirpy Cockney Mike O′Kane, in the Killer Coop. Keep yer ′Mince Pies′ peeled, unless you want him to take that lance and ′Elephant and Castle′." |
Killer Coop is one of the new vehicles introduced in the Splat Pack expansion from the original Carmageddon, driven by Mike O'Kane. It appears among the first batch of opponents and is not stealworthy.
Design
Killer Coop is a green 1964 Austin Mini Cooper, with white stripes on its hood and the race number 64. Attached to its right side is a medieval lance.
Performance
Killer Coop is very light weight vehicle not suitable for wrecking. However, it's drivability is good, making it fun racer, albeit fairly slow.
Driver
Mike O'Kane is an older man appearing to be on his 50s and slightly overweight. He wears glasses and a suit.
Trivia
- Killer Coop replaces the Countslash.
- A similar vehicle driven by an alternate version of Mike O'Kane (Michael Pain) exists in Carmageddon (PlayStation).
- Another vehicle with "Killer" in its name - the Killer Kitty, is also featured in Splat Pack.
- The race number 64 is likely due to the year of the car model the Killer Coop was based on, being 1964.
- Mike O'Kane is based on British Actor Sir Michael Caine. One may have seen him in the original The Italian Job, where he and a bunch of others carry out a grand heist involving the use of Mini Coopers. None of the minis in the film were fitted with a lance, though.
- Mike O'Kane is pronounced 'My Cocaine'. This same pun is used for the PSX character Michael Pain and TDR 2000's early driver name for the Soul Harvester, Malcon Cainn.
- In Cockney Rhyming Slang 'Mince Pies' means 'Eyes', while 'Elephant & Castle' translates as 'Arsehole' (pronounced "ar-sul"). Presumably Stainless meant the description to end 'shove it up your arsehole'.
- In demo version of Splat Pack, his name was "Mitchell Kane", while the shortname didn't change.
- Like majority of Splat Pack vehicles, Killer Coop was likely work of intern.
- Killer Coop might have been based of Model Bank Mini.
