Grunge Buster is one of the 30 original vehicles from Carmageddon and Splat Pack, driven by Mech Maniac. It first appears among the first batch of opponents and becomes stealworthy at rank 55.

Design

It is a buggy whose design is seemingly influenced by the Lotus Super 7, or at least one of the many Clubmans knockoffs available. It has the race number 16.

Drivers

A skinny man with futuristic goggles, a mohawk, a trenchcoat and four earrings. There's a line of red paint under his eyes.

Trivia

• Both car and driver are influenced by the cyberpunk movement in literature, which was at its peak in the late 80s and early 90s - around the same time, in fact, as the grunge subgenre of rock music.
• The Mech Maniac driver texture used in Grunge Buster was reused in other vehicles, namely: Road Bratt, Street Eater, and F999.

Trivia

• His name is a pun on rapper Busta Rhymes, while his appearance is based on the Emperor from the Star Wars franchise.
• In loading screen there is smoother version Grunge Buster that has different driver with glowing eyes. The picture appears to be painted over original model.
