Monster Beatle is one of the 41 original vehicles from Carmageddon II: Carpocalypse Now, driven by Herb 'E'. It appears among the second tier of opponents.

Design

it is a white 1966 Volkswagen Type 1 1300 "Beetle" strapped onto four giant wheels. It has the number 35, and "HATE" stickers on the left side and on the tailend.

Driver

Herb 'E's most distinctive trait is his golden right eye.

Trivia

• The Beatles were one of the best-selling and most influential pop groups of all time, and pretty much dominated the charts during the 1960s on both sides of the Atlantic. They were noted for drug references in their later songs.
• The car is clearly based on Herbie The Love Bug, another 1960s touchstone. Additionally, Herb 'E' is homophone of Herbie.
• Herb is a slang term for cannabis, while 'E' is an offhand way of referring to the drug ecstasy.
• The driver looks almost identical to Wide Boy, except that his right pupil is more golden.
• Beatle's tires appear to be based of same texture as Monster Masher's tires. Center of texture is modified with addition of moon style hubcaps. Some real life monster trucks had moon hubcaps.
• Monster Beatle reappears in two other games: In Carmageddon 64, driven by a different driver named Bug Meister; and in Carmageddon (Game Boy Color), under the simple name of Beetle.
