"I'll show you, Boys Toys." |
Femme Fatal is one of the 50 original cars from Carmageddon: TDR 2000. It first appears in the Docks, being part of the third batch of vehicles the player encounters in the game.
Design
It is a pink 1997 Toyota Corolla E100 Seca with four non-moving saws attached to it (two on the front, and two on the back), and a livery depicting a green-haired woman. Her hair flows to the back of the vehicle, but a stream of flames is laid above it on the car's rear. It also has the number 99 plastered throughout its body, the name "Vixen" sometimes written on top of it.
Performance
Femme Fatal is an inferior all-rounder compared to other vehicles. It is very light and weak, has a slow acceleration, lower top speed of 228mph when fully upgraded, and costs a ton of credits. The vehicle can also bend like a banana if the player isn't careful.[1].
Driver
The driver, named "Veronica Vixen" in the files, appears to be modified from Max Damage. She has black hair with a pink fringe, and wears heavy makeup. She sports a black jacket, an American-themed undershirt with a breast window, and blue jeans.
Mission Appearance
Femme Fatal appears in the Bridge's mission (The Great Divide), together with McKilem, SXE Black Hatch, and Witch Doctor. It is encountered as soon as the player leaves the tunnel. It will try to chase the player's car throughout the ground area, but just like in the earlier mission, it is easily avoidable and does not need to be destroyed.
Trivia
- Femme Fatal's file name is "FemmeFatel".
- Femme Fatal = Femme Fatale, a woman who uses her charms to lead men to their death. A common example would be the Sirens in Greek mythology.
- Femme Fatal is one of three cars with the same "99" race number. The others are: Tanka, and Abba Cab. Tanka's number can't be seen on the model itself, however.
- Femme Fatal and the Vulture are basically same cars with different skins. It is likely Femme Fatale was modified from Vulture and not the other way around.
- Inside the files for Femme Fatal there is an info .txt file for an earlier iteration of the vehicle, with the description being taken from the early version of the Vulture:
- NAME "FemmeFatel"
- DESCRIPTION "Top Speed: 200mph
- Kerb weight: 1.5 tons
- 0-60mph: 3.4 seconds
- I am the god of vulting, bend before me"
- DESCRIPTOR "FemmeFateldescriptor.txt"
- DRIVER_NAME "Hot Tits"
- DRIVER_SHORT_NAME "Tit'e"
- STRENGTH 5
- COST 50 // in thousands!
- TYPE 2 // 0 = eagle, 1 = normal, 2 = novelty
- //ARMOUR_MAP "eagle_armoured"
