Electric Blue is one of the 30 original cars from Carmageddon and the Splat Pack expansion. It appears together with the second tier of vehicles, and is not stealworthy.

Design

The vehicle is a Lister Storm, although it also bears similarities to a number of other endurance racers including the Ferrari F40, Porsche 917, Porsche 962 road modification models, and the Jaguar XJR-9 and as such is often mistaken for one of these vehicles.

Performance

The Electric Blue is special for having a electro-bastard ray built-in - very useful for eliminating pedestrians, but very annoying if it's not the player behind the wheel.

Trivia

  • Collecting an electro-bastard ray while using Electric Blue makes the automatic ray stop working when the powerup wears off.

Electric Blue makes an appearance in the PlayStation version of Carmageddon. This time, it can be bought.

Design

This is a lower poly version of the car from the original game. Because of this, some of the textures, like the number 17 on its left side, appear distorted. It also lacks the pillars between the windows, and it now has open wells for the back wheels.

Performance

Unlike the PC release, this version has no electro-bastard ray.

Driver

De-d 209 looks like a blue-skinned woman corpse with short bobbed hair of the same color.

Trivia

  • The driver's name is taken from the ED-209 droid from RoboCop, which also might be one of the inspirations behind Ed 101's name.

Electric Blue is one of the 50 original cars from Carmageddon: TDR 2000. It first appears in HiRise, being encountered halfway through the game.

Design

This vehicle has a futuristic design which doesn't have much in common with its predecessor, except for the electricity livery.

Performance

Once again, this version of the Electric Blue has no electro-bastard ray built-in, being just another regular vehicle.

Driver

The driver, named "Crank Zapper" in the files, is hard to notice due to the tinted glass. She has a black bobbed hair with a blue fringe, as well as blue eye makeup, dark blue lipstick, and blue clothes.

Trivia

  • Electric Blue's texture files are named "electricpoo". Various files are also just titled "Poo".
  • The name of the driver comes from Frank Zappa, a very famous musician.
  • The reason Electric Blue was created for TDR 2000 was because of a poll done by SCi, which was to choose the top 5 cars from both the original Carmageddon, and Carmageddon II to be made for TDR 2000. Electric Blue was one of the winners on the C1 side. The others were Tow Meister, Vlad MK. 1, Suppressor and King Merc[1].
  • Inside the files for Electric Blue there is an info .txt file for an earlier iteration of the vehicle:
    • NAME "Electric Blue"
    • DESCRIPTION "Top Speed: 200mph
    • Kerb weight: 1.5 tons
    • 0-60mph: 3.4 seconds

Driver Stella Stunna
Race number no number

Electric Blue appears in the Tozzer Carmageddon comic, being driven by Stella Stunna, despite the comic being based on TDR 2000.

Design

The comic design is almost exactly like the one from the original Carmageddon, except for the lack of the number 17.

Story

In chapter 10, the Electric Blue crashes after being hit by the Alien's car. Stella crawls out of the wreckage of her car, but unfortunately for her, both the electro-bastard ray and its proximity targeting system were still in full working order, killing her.

In the Funsize version of Carmageddon, the Electric Blue is once again not stealworthy, being one of the vehicles the player receives after beating the game.

Design

This design is a smoother version of the one from the original game. The livery is also softer, looking more like a flash of light instead of lightning.

Trivia

  • Unlike in the original game, if a electro-bastard ray powerup is picked up, its name isn't show, and the effect stays even after it wears off.

Electric Blue is one of the 30 original cars from Carmageddon: Reincarnation. It first appears in Group 11, being part of the last batch of vehicles the player encounters in the game.

Design

This version looks completely different from the original design. It sports a dark blue paintjob, and has six electric coils attached to its roof.

Performance

This iteration of the Electric Blue features the electro-bastard ray.
