Trivia

  • The reason Towmeister was created for TDR 2000 was because of a poll done by SCi, which was to choose the top 5 cars from both the original Carmageddon, and Carmageddon II to be made for TDR 2000. Towmeister was one of the winners on the C1 side. The others were Electric Blue, Vlad MK. 1, Suppressor and King Merc[1].

Carmageddon: Reincarnation

Towmeister (Pre-Alpha)

"This rabid scrapyard dog has motor oil coursing through his veins and methane seeping from his... bovine victims."

Towmeister first appeared in pre-release engine shots.

Design

Unlike earlier iterations, this incarnation of Towmeister downplays locomotive design cues and replaces them with more dog oriented decorations. The car is customized 1940's style tow truck with extremely chopped top and rusty yellow paint job. It has number 22 and picture of dog headed woman in bikini on bed side. It's front bumper is reminiscent of jaws of a dog.

Performance

Driver

The driver is once again Psycho Pitbull, this time with much closer resemblance to Neil Barnden.

Design

Stage 2 of Crasher's Towmeister is almost identical to it's Carmageddon: Reincarnation counterpart, sans double rear lights.

Stage 0

The car is customized 1940's style tow truck with extremely chopped top and rusty yellow paint job. It has number 22 and picture of dog headed woman in bikini on side. It's front bumper is reminiscent of lower jaw of dog. Front of the vehicle is blood stained

Stage 1

Upgrade stage-1 moves front bumper forward and adds upper jaw above it. Stage-1 also adds three exhaust pipes on both sides of bonnet.

Stage 2

Stage-2 makes jaws bigger and adds slice on hood with protruding spiked wheel and extra pair of rear lights.

Stage 3

Stage-3 replaces exhaust pipes, crane, rear bumber and rear fenders with different designs. It also removes all the blood. Woman picture on side becomes partially obstructed by rear fender.

Stage 4

Stage-4 adds extra support for crane. It also adds covers for rear lights and alters jaw's mounts.

Stage 5

Final stage again makes jaws larger and adds extra set of lights on the roof and replaces grille with lighted skull-design and tow hook with double tow hook. It also adds circular saw on crane which game file's calls MurderSpikerDiskOfDeath.

Trivia

  • There are a number of trailer and towing companies globally named TowMaster.
    • Looking at the name, "Meister" means "Master" in German.
  • Two Tow Meisters appear in the Traffic Jam mission in Carmageddon: TDR 2000.
