Stainless Software Ltd (now Stainless Games) are a video game development company famous for the Carmageddon series of videogames.

Based on the Isle Of Wight and founded in 1993, the young company (the oldest members were in their early 30s) had nine members whose experience varied wildly, leading to a similarly experimental nature in Carmageddon's development.

Stainless Software became part of VIS entertainment group in 1999, and in 2001 Stainless Games was spun-off from VIS.

Development of Carmageddon: TDR 2000 was contracted out to Torus Games.

Stainless Games mainly develop downloadable games for Microsoft Windows and the Xbox 360's Xbox Live Arcade.

On June 1st 2011, Stainless announced they had regained the rights to Carmageddon from Square Enix, and had begun development on Carmageddon: Reincarnation.
